Internet Relationships (my thoughts)
Our lives are increasingly dependant on technology as opposed to face-to-face contact. It is not at all surprising that millions have already ventured into online dating as a way to find a relationship rather than waiting for a chance meeting. The internet makes it possible to break the geographical barrier and meet people from around the world. You can know and understand the people before you actually meet them. I certainly believe that meaningful relationships can be made/started this way. I think Internet romance has more potential because you can get to know someone personally without brushing them off immediately because of their appearance. You may also feel more confident in sharing things about yourselves initially since you’re not talking face-to-face.
I have met some amazing people online, but I have also met some very strange characters. Online relationships definately has its ins and outs. You can really get to know the heart of a person online, but there is so much more to a conversation than just words. Body language and tone of voice can change the meaning of what one says. I find it worth while to chat to people online. I think if used correctly, it is a great tool for building relationships. I can go from being in my living room all alone to being in Australia having a great conversation over a cup of coffee in a matter of just a second. I find it fascinating that you are able to break geographical barriers with just the click of a mouse, and venture into new places of the world making friends as you go.

I totally agree with you. Some of the best people that I’ve met are online. I wrote a post about this roughly three years ago. I was just updating it when I found the, “possibly related posts” feature and thought I’d get your take on it. Very well said.
